The Penan community in Borneo

Take action to support the Penans, on Survival International‘s Website. the hunter-gatherer Penan in Sarawak, in the Malaysian part of Borneo, are battling to stop the destruction of their last remaining forests, and their way of life. The Penan’s land rights are not recognized, and their forests are being cleared for oil palm plantations, robbing them of their means of survival.

The organization “Friends of the Penans” promotes awareness of the Penan’s way of life and their struggle to survive, thereby motivating people to take effective action to help them.
